Introduction to the Kick in Backstroke

In order for the kick to be effective for the Backstroke, it first needs to flutter without excessive bends in the hips and knees. It should remain compact within the frame, without rocking the frame. Aim for a rhythmic flutter. The 4 beat often works well with backstroke, where the second down-press assists with the torso rotation.
