Introduction to Breathing in Backstroke
With the breathing frequency fixed to the stroke cycle, you regulate respiration with volume per breath, not with changing frequency (usually). For easy intensity, use smaller exhales. For higher intensity, increase exhale volume.
**You need to always blow out your nose in case that your face submerged a bit as gravity pushes down on your high recovery arm, and thus pushes down on your torso.
