    When beginning this, hold position for 5 to 10 belly breathes. Later on hold for 10 to 30 belly breaths.

    Keep spine straight or with slight arch. Do not let lower back sag.

    Pull elbows toward toes to engage abdominal region and take tension off of lower back.

    Breathe deep in belly, below navel. Count steady breaths.

    Measure progress in strength by noticing how many more breath counts you can hold from week to week.
